Divisional Choir Program

Students in grads 4 & 5 are invited to audition for the Divisional Children's Choir.  Interested students will receive an audition paper on May 2 or 3rd.  Parents need to sign up for an audition at www.sjsdchoirs.ca for the Children's Choir.  Students will need to sing O Canada or a song sung in choir this year.  A song from the Pirates Musical will be appropriate as well.  Students will also sing in canon Row Row Row your Boat, Frère Jacques or To Stop the Train.  Students will then sing and clap various melodies or rhythm after the teacher.  We will be practicing at recesses to prepare for the choir audition.

Divisional Theatre Program

The Divisional Theatre will be presenting Seussical Jr. next February. Interested students in Grades 3 - 5 received the papers on Tuesday, April 18 to sign up for an audition. The website to sign up is https://auditions.sjsd-musical.ca/  

Practices for the songs and lines will be on May 2, 4, 5, 8, 9 and maybe the following week at 11:45.  Remember to practice at home by using the dropbox site provided on the information sheet.

Music Festival results

Congratulations to the Grade 3 choir for their fine singing in the Winnipeg Music Festival and the silver award they received.  The Grade 4 Orff Club received a silver award as well.

The Grade 5 Theatre Club received a gold award of their performance and performed for the Concert of Excellence on March 15th.  Well done to all of the music groups!

Music Festival

The Winnipeg Music Festival is quickly approaching.  The Grade 3 Choir will be performing at Westminster Church on March 2nd around 11:45 am; the Grade 5 Theatre Club will be performing on March 9th around 10:45 at Westminster Church and the Grade 4 Orff Club will be performing on March 13 at 10 a.m. at Lakewood School.
